The following measures are used to prevent and monitor for COIs:

1. Learners are always asked in all post-CME/CE activity evaluation forms whether there was any commercial bias, and if so, to explain.
2. For all live courses, the BMLI take two additional measures to help ensure that the learners are made aware of full disclosure prior to all courses:
1. BMLI sends to all pre-registered learners, one week before the live course, an Email containing the complete disclosure of reported conflicts of interest to date and indicating that any conflicts have been resolved.
2. On site at the live course, the BMLI staff members at the registration table personally hand to all learners a copy of the complete and final COI form on a red-colored paper (red color is used for emphasis), and requests that the learner please read the COI form before the activity begins.
